The mushrooms are hand sculpted and the caps are painted red with an orange undercoat and sealed with glossy varnish. The mossy hill is needle felted with dark olive wool and securely nestled into a terra cotta base that I've hand-painted white. Scattered among the moss are ivory silk ribbon embroidered flowers along with slender grasses (sporophytes) that are made from cotton thread that I hand dyed in shades of olive greens and muted yellows. I've added a protective felt circle to the very bottom of the base so you can place this miniature scene anywhere you like... use it as a pincushion or as a sweet little home decor or office desk item.
The entire scene is 3 - 4 inches wide (depending upon which bases I have on hand) and 3 inches tall, from the bottom of the base to the tip of the tallest mushroom.
